Supreme Court grants Financial Autonomy to the 774 Local Government Areas, Nasir El-Rufai reacts

 

Following the Supreme Court’s decision to forbid state governors from using funds intended for the nation’s 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs), former governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai, took to social media to voice his concerns.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Recall that the Supreme Court led by Justice Emmanuel Agim had on Thursday, granted financial autonomy to the 774 Local Government Areas in the country, by banning all 36 governors from using funds that are designated for all the LGAs.

The court also declared it illegal and unconstitutional for state governors to receive, tamper or withhold such funds, adding that such practice is a violation of section 162 of the 1999 Constitution.

And so All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain, Nasir El-Rufai in reaction to such report which was shared by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga few hours ago, took to his official X account to state that they all came from God and they all shall return to him.
