During an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Mic On Podcast, Stephen mentioned that a lot of people are unaware that Sharia law, which is founded on Islamic principles, governs the United Arab Emirates. Despite this, he claimed, the United Arab Emirates is a multicultural and accepting nation where adherents of many religions live in harmony.
Stephen shared his personal experience of visiting a Roman Catholic church in the UAE, where he saw four church services take place. He said this demonstrates the religious freedom and tolerance present in the UAE, where Christians and people of other faiths are free to practice their religion openly
In Stephen’s words: “Most people don’t know UAE operate Sharia law but see what is happening, Christians are there. Infact, there was a day I went to a Roman Catholic church there and the place was busy, they were doing four services. I had never seen Catholic Church that does four services in UAE”.
