He emphasized the necessity of taking proactive steps to resurrect the PDP and demonstrate its significance in the political arena. He emphasized the necessity of an opposition party in putting up alternative policy ideas and keeping the incumbent party responsible. He appealed for progressives who were devoted to the party, democracy, and the future of the country to take the initiative and lead revolutionary projects.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”If you see me push so hard, I’m pushing so hard because I feel that a 25 years old institution is supposed to be one of the legacies that one of the most popular black nations would tell the world that we can also run this thing. I’m disappointed that the Obasanjo and Jonathan of this world are just watching the PDP bleed and they are not doing anything.

And if they will be tired and they cannot do anything. Then it behooved those of us that are very futuristic about the country about the party and about democracy. Beyond winning elections, a political party in opposition has another duty. Its duty is to put the feet of the ruling party to fire. Come up with alternative policies, give them a different way of doing things, and try to tell the world that there’s hope here.”

The crisis within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has persisted for over a year, stemming from the defeat of the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, in the PDP Presidential primaries, where Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emerged as the nominee.
