Sowore stated. 'I Heard Tinubu Has Over 7 Radio Stations; He Has Never Been Arrested Or Questioned Before'

In a recent interview with Arise TV, human rights campaigner Omoyele Sowore voiced his worries about the unequal treatment he sees in Nigeria’s media environment. Sowore contrasted his personal experiences of being targeted with the seeming absence of legal scrutiny experienced by well-known individuals such as the president, who controls numerous media sites. Sowore questioned why he, as a publisher, is targeted while others with vested interests in media remain untouched. He expressed concern regarding media freedom and the selective enforcement of laws in Nigeria.

According to him, “The president of Nigeria today is one of the biggest publishers of news, and before he became president, nobody charged him for cybercrime, for stories on the nation or what they did on his TV station. I heard he has over seven radio stations. He has never been arrested or even questioned before. I’m a publisher too, so why am I targeted?
