In a recent report by Punch, the spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command said the students, who had been kidnapped and later rescued in a forest in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State were initially taken to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Oro-Ago. The spokesperson said the students were given breakfast and while preparing to move them to Ilorin for medical attention, soldiers arrived at the police station in a convoy of three operational vehicles. The spokesperson said the soldiers overpowered the police operatives and took the students into their custody without following proper handover procedures.

The spokesperson assured that necessary actions would be taken to report the soldiers’ behavior to higher authorities for further action.
