David Ukpo’s father, Mr. Nwamini Ukpo, said that none of the Ekweremadu family visited them right away because the story of his son’s trip to the UK for a kidney transplant had gone viral. David Ukpo was taken to the UK by former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu. According to what Nwamini Ukpo said in the report by Vanguard News, “Since the issue of my son being taken to the United Kingdom became a global issue, none of the Ekweremadu family visited us immediately. It was when the case was being handled by the UK government that a group of people came, saying they were from Ekweremadu, and decided to offer me a tricycle, which I rejected.
