Shehu Sani Responds To The Protest In Minna Niger State Over The High Cost Of Living

In response to the demonstration that happened in Minna, Niger State, Senator Shehu Sani has responded.

Reports state that while security personnel, including police officers, watched, the demonstrators—including women and young people—were heard singing protest songs.

The demonstrators claimed that the growing cost of food and inadequate government efforts to address the situation compelled them to block important roadways so that the government would hear their cries.

Shehu Sani, commenting on this development on his official X handle, stated that the protest falls within the ambit of the right to peaceful dissent.

He disclosed that protests against the cost of living were also done in other European cities experiencing economic crises.
