Senator Shehu Sani responded by calling Governor Otti’s conduct laudable and pointing out that elective offices ought not to be pensionable. He continued by saying that Gov. Otti’s decision will free up a significant amount of funds for health and education development initiatives.
Senator Shehu Sani made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Thursday afternoon. He went on and urged other state governors to emulate Governor Otti’s bold step.
He wrote: “The Abia State Government decision to cancel the payment of pension to Ex Governors and their Deputies is commendable. Elective offices should not be pensionable. This will save a lot of money for developmental projects in education and health. Other states should emulate this bold step.”
