In an interview with TVC, Shaibu said that he went against his own political father, Comrades Adams Oshiomhole, by disagreeing with him when his (Oshiomhole’s) actions were not in favor of Obaseki. He said he prioritized his alliance with Obaseki, even though it came at a personal cost. He also said that despite being deprived of certain benefits during this period, he didn’t mind the sacrifices he made to support the relationship between himself and Obaseki.
