Senator Shehu Sani made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Saturday evening, while reacting to the current throne tussle going on in Kano Emirate. He went on and demanded to know whether such suggestion should be implemented.

Senator Shehu Sani wrote: “In the next Constitutional amendment, it should be stated that ‘A Governor can appoint an Emir, Oba or King but only the National Council of Traditional Rulers can remove him’. Do you agree or Disagree with this proposal?”

It should be recalled that the Kano State government, on Friday, removed the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, and replaced him with his predecessor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. After his removal, he refused to vacate the throne, insisting that he is still the Emir of Kano.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
