Rivers Crisis: Fubara said if you caught someone with a gun and it was not on safety he could have shot us — According to A. AigbeA member of the West Africa Solidarity Network named Austin Aigbe has offered commentary on the conflict arising in Rivers state between former governor Nyesom Wike and his successor, governor Siminalayi Fubara. In an interview with Arise TV, Aigbe said Fubara had made strong statements regarding the situation. He alleged that Fubara likened the situation to someone being caught with a gun ready to fire at him. He said Fubara made it known that he would not take the situation lightly and part of his strategy is to probe Wike’s administration. He said Fubara may also neutralize Wike’s influence in the state with the support of Wike’s former allies, including former governors

In Aigbe’s words: “Fubara said if you caught someone with a gun and the gun was not on safety, he could have shot us. He said ‘we won’t take it for granted, we will develop all strategies’ and part of the strategy is going ahead to institute some kind of probe.
