Reactions As Emefiele gives up On Who Gave Permission For The Resigning Of N1000, N500 And N200 Notes

A few days ago, a private investigator made news by revealing that President Muhammadu Buhari had not approved the naira redesign program. The investigator claimed that Buhari’s adviser, Sabiu Tunde Yusuf, was the one who came up with the idea.

According to the report by Daily Trust, the special investigator, Jim Obazee, claimed that Emefiele opened 593 bank accounts in the United States, the United Kingdom and China where he kept billions of Nigerian money without the approval of the CBN or the former president Buhari.

In his reaction, Emefiele said that the claims from Obazee were false and misleading, adding that Obazee lied to achieve his agenda.

According to the report by Daily Trust, Emefiele revealed that it was Muhammadu Buhari who approved and authorized the redesigning of the naira notes.

In a statement, he said, “Moreover, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR has stated on a number of occasions that he authorized and approved the naira redesign. I am therefore at a loss as to why Mr. Jim Obazee will mislead Nigerians that there was no presidential approval.”
