Protester said. “To Be Sincere, Tinubu Has Been Lenient With Us But We Don’t Know What He’s Doing Behind”

 

On their first day, the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests had a significant effect on Nigeria. A female demonstrator spoke with the security personnel and shared her thoughts about President Tinubu’s response to the nonviolent demonstration.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

The protester wore a shirt bearing a statement made by Tinubu during protests against the Jonathan administration. It read, “Police do not attack protesters. Your children are involved. Your lives are involved. Your children’s future lies here.”

 

She explained that this message was a reminder to the police to avoid attacking peaceful protesters. 

She acknowledged that the president has been somewhat lenient and communicative, directing the police not to attack, which they appreciate, but stated that they don’t know what Tinubu is doing behind the scenes.

 

Quoting her, “To be sincere, the president has been lenient in trying to converse with us, and he’s been trying to give directives.”
