According to Osodeke, Tinubu, a private citizen at the time, discreetly interfered during the strike to voice his concerns about the nation’s educational system.
In addition, Osodeke disclosed that ASUU has formally asked Tinubu to meet in order to give a paper that aims to realign Nigeria’s economic and education system, in addition to discussing union issues. Regretfully, they didn’t hear back.
He said: “We must tell the Nigerian public that the present President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, was one of those who intervened when we were on strike informally. And when we came to him, we also wrote him to request a meeting, not just to discuss our issues but for the academia, the brain of the country. ”
