Renowned lawyer and public affairs pundit Inibehe Effiong has expressed grave concerns about the security forces’ response time after a terrorist attack in Plateau state that tragically resulted in the deaths of over 100 Nigerians. He remarked, “We have to stop excusing this; can anybody tell us today that the security outfits are incapable of detecting these attacks? Does it mean that the military has aircrafts, the police has no helicopters to respond within minutes of these attacks? When the military has confirmed that they received over 30 distress calls. There is simply no excuse for what has happened, it’s either the government is complicit in these killings or the governor is clearly incompetent. But whichever it is, if it’s the case of incompetence, how come the IGP has not been held accountable? How come he’s still in office? How come the heads of other security outfits are still in office?
