Peter Obi Reactions he was surprised to read that farmers in the North now pay bandits up to N100,000

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has bemoaned the declining level of security in Nigeria. Peter Obi, the flag-bearer of the Labour Party in the general elections of 2023, wrote on his official X (formerly known as Twitter) account that he was shocked to learn that farmers in Northern Nigeria now have to pay bandits as much as N100,000 for permission to farm, or else they risk being attacked. “These are happening at a time when we need more hands on the farms to enable us to produce enough foods for local consumption, stem the galloping food inflation, and build a productive economy and nation for ourselves.”
