In the video, the former governor of Anambra state said the only way the Federal Government can make more tax from the people is by investing in them. Peter Obi said the government has to create employment and robust the economy before taxing the people.
He said it is impossible to tax people who are unemployed. He said the more people the government pulls out of poverty, the more the government will make from tax.
Peter Obi said;
“As a government, you have to provide employment and robust your economy before you can tax. You can’t tax unemployed people. I can’t go to a village and begin to tax people who don’t have jobs.
