On its social media page, NDDC announced the groundbreaking ceremony of their new worship centre. They explained that the event, led by the clergyman, was significant as it would cater to the spiritual needs of NDDC staff.

During the event, Pastor Ibiyeomie declared that the agency’s crisis would cease because they decided to build a worship centre for God. He stated, “Because NDDC has decided to honour God by building a worship centre for Him, crises will cease in this commission.”

However, some Nigerians expressed their displeasure with this move. Many argued that it was wrong for the commission to use funds intended for community development in the Niger Delta to build a worship centre.

Others criticized Pastor Ibiyeomie, suggesting that if he were truly considerate, he would have advised against using taxpayer money for a worship centre that does not address the needs of the Nigerian people.
