Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe of the Delta State Police Command announced on Sunday, March 31, 2024, that over fifteen victims had identified two men, known as Keke, who were skilled at stealing people’s phones from inside tricycles. Edafe made this revelation on his X handle, where he also said that there are indications that more victims would go to the police station in order to find the individuals who stole their phones. Collins Akpinoba and David Paulson are the two phone thieves, according to Edafe, and they are capable of stealing people’s phones out of their pockets even if they are hidden in their underpants. According to reports by the state police command, the two men were arrested after they stole the phone of a passenger inside a tricycle he boarded from Nnebisi Road and heading for Okpanam Road in Asaba, the state capital.
The alarm raised by the passenger attracted the attention of people nearby who pursued them, caught up with them and handed them over to police operatives from the A Division in Asaba.
However, while giving an update on the matter, Edafe said people have been coming to identify them as those who stole their phones, adding that there are indications that more victims will still show up.
He wrote: “You see these two suspects, Collins Akpinoba and David Paulson, that’s if it’s even their real name, they are deadly Keke robbers. These guys can remove your phones even if you hide them inside your undies.
“Since their arrest, over fifteen victims have come to identify them and more are still coming. If they have done this to you before and you recognize them, please go to “A” Division, Asaba. Who knows, your phone might be recovered.”
