'One Former NBA Chairman, SAN Olisa Agbakoba said this Supreme Court is the worst in his 46 years of practice' - According to Prof Utomi

He also brought up Olu Akptata’s contemptuous comments against the legal system. He brought up the unfavorable impression that foreigners have of Nigeria’s judiciary, citing an unfavorable EU report on INEC and the 2023 elections. He attacked the INEC officials’ tenacity, implying that given the problems with the election process, they would have resigned out of respect for themselves in a decent society.

He said in an interview with AIT, ”One Former NBA Chairman, SAN Olisa Agbakoba said this Supreme Court is the worst in his 46 years of practice. And I heard Olu Akptata speak very dismissive of the processes in the judiciary today. I can name many more who are talking of their own system. You can imagine what the perception from the outside will be on this matter. I have been speaking with a lot of people abroad and I know what they view and what they think.

Look, the EU wrote a damning report on INEC and the elections, they were the major funder of INEC. For years, I used to say that the NIM and the NDI come on four yearly vacations to Nigeria to observe elections and try to see no evil and watch elections become a joke in Nigeria. But this time around, it was so bad that they managed to speak up against it. And those who run INEC continue to run INEC.
