In a video recently shared on YouTube by Arise TV, Okupe said that the money he received was at the instruction of the then-president, within his rights. He pointed out that the person who authorized the payments, the former National Security Adviser (NSA), is alive and hasn’t been found guilty of any offense. He argued that since the money came from the government’s budget and not an irregular account, he should not have been convicted
