He highlighted the devastating impact on his community and family as he’s the only surviving member of his family. He asserted that those responsible for such heinous acts must be held accountable for their actions. He criticized the invocation of human rights by certain individuals and community leaders following the military operation in Okuama community to find the perpetrators.
He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”Some people would come out and say that they are lawyers and they are community leaders. We are also from Niger Delta. The boy who was killed, Daniel Obi is from my village. I paid for his form to go to NDA and he’s the only member of his family that is still existing. His father died as a farmer, the elder brother died in an accident last year.
And you gruesomely murdered him. They are lucky that they are not our neighbors, the Army is just joking with them. We would have just sent two people and see whether they would exist as a community. Just last year, between Agbor and Asaba, policemen who were on guard doing their normal routine check were gunned down, one of them is my Nephew. And this year again, Daniel Obi has been gunned down.
