Okpebholo: Seun, With Due Respect, This Is Stale And Unhelpful Academic Question -According to  Adams Oshiomhole

In an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels Television, former governor of Edo State Adams Oshiomhole strongly addressed concerns about Monday Okpebholo’s ability as the newly elected governor. “Seun, with due respect, this is a stale and unhelpful academic question. Edo people have spoken with their choice, who are you to say that their judgement is faulty?” Oshiomhole stated. He emphasized that the decision about the best candidate for the state was not for the interviewer or himself to make, but rather, it rested with the voters of Edo State.

“The Edo people have spoken loud and clear,” Oshiomhole continued, praising Okpebholo, who had been a senator before being elected as governor. He underscored that Okpebholo’s victory was a reflection of the will of the people. “You can ask the Edo people why they decided to vote for him.”

Oshiomhole’s remarks come in defense of the APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo, following his victory in the fiercely contested Edo governorship election

In his words;

“Seun, with due respect, this is stale and unhelpful academic question. Edo people have spoken with their choice, who are you to say that their Judgement is faulty, then you need to revise the definition of democracy. Ina a sense, I think that your candidate lost the election. When you sit down here to ask me that whether I thought that of all of the Candidate, that APC Candidate was the most qualified and competent. Is that question meant to be answered by you and I? That question can only be answered by Edo People and that’s what the campaign is about.The Edo people have spoken loud and clear that Monday Okpebholo, a distinguished senator who has been elected last year, has again been elected this year is now declared Governor elect of Edo State.
