Osodeke revealed that during the strike, Tinubu—who was then a private citizen—informally intervened to express his concern for the country’s educational system.

Furthermore, Osodeke revealed that ASUU had formally requested a meeting with Tinubu, seeking to discuss not only their union’s issues but also to present a document aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s education system and economy. Unfortunately, they received no response.

According to him, “We must tell the Nigerian public that the present President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, was one of those who intervened when we were on strike informally. And when we came to him, we also wrote him to request a meeting, not just to discuss our issues but for the academia, the brain of the country.
