Prof. Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, a human rights activist and lawyer, responded to the withdrawal of all Nigeria Police Force officers tasked with defending Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi state. The report further stated that the order for the withdrawal was contained in a police wireless message that was shared on Friday.
It is no longer news that the decision of the police to withdraw all the personnel attached to Yahaya Bello is coming after the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, declared him wanted over allegations of money laundering.
However, Chidi Odinkalu has now reacted to the report. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he said the police chose to withdraw Its personnel from the former governor of Kogi state instead of using the personnel to arrest him.
Prof Chidi Anselm Odinkalu wrote on his official page;
