Obi's Visit: You've Reached Out To Me, But My Own Party Candidate, Not Even A Call Or A Text-According to Makinde

The governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, expressed gratitude to Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for 2023, for coming to the state to offer his condolences following the recent explosion that shook the region. He pointed out that Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for his party, had never texted or called Makinde regarding the tragic event that took place in the state. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

The governor of Oyo State continued by saying that politics, government, and humanity all have their proper places. He continued by expressing his gratitude for President Tinubu’s call following the tragedy.

According to Sahara Reporters, Governor Makinde made this disclosure when the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi visited him in Ibadan, to commiserate with him over the explosion that recently happened in the state.

The Governor said: “I’m particularly grateful because the President called me. You (Obi) have reached out to me but my own party candidate, not even a call or a text message.

“I’m saying this openly so that our leaders will know that there is time for politics and time for governance and time for humanity.”

In addition, the Oyo State governor disclosed that investigation for details is still going on, noting that the explosion was caused by illegal miners that stored explosives in an environment where they shouldn’t be. He went on and noted that all the lapses that caused the incident have been looked into.

It should be recalled that prior to the 2023 presidential election, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and some other PDP governors known as G5, refused to support Atiku Abubakar’s presidential ambition. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
