Obasanjo Admin: They did everything to ensure that the South-West did not get anything- According to Adeyeye

In an interview with The Punch, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the national coordinator of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju and a former minister of state for works, discussed a variety of topics, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s adoption of the Stephen Oronsaye report and the difficulties that Nigerians are currently facing. Adeyeye asserted that if people examine closely at the selections that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made—many Nigerians feel that Tinubu’s administration has favored the nation’s South-West geopolitical zone—they will see that Tinubu is not biased. He said that rather than favoring the southwest, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is favoring all Nigerians.

He said in terms of ministries today, there are individuals overseeing science and technology, a change from what was seen in the past and many Nigerians now feel a sense of inclusion under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.

He said, “Even if you look at all the ministries, Tinubu has been fair in sharing the appointments for all Nigerians. I was a national secretary of Afenifere; I had the authority to issue statements, which were authorised by our leaders.

We had the reason to complain that former President Olusegun Obasanjo was not doing anything to revamp the situation because he didn’t want to be accused of favouring his area and they did everything to ensure that the South-West did not get anything.”

He said that during the Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, the Lagos/Ibadan expressway was neglected, with no improvements made even in areas like Sango-Ota that happens to be the residential area of the former president.
