Punch reported that with the death of legendary actor Zulu Adigwe on Tuesday, a string of catastrophes has struck the Nigerian film industry, or Nollywood, once more. For Nollywood, Adigwe’s passing was a tragic day, and regrettably, it wasn’t an isolated one. 1). John Okafor:

 

 

Veteran actor John Okafor, known by his stage name Mr. Ibu, passed away in April. Okafor was a beloved figure in Nollywood, known for his comedic roles in movies like “Mr. Ibu” and “Millionaires Club.”

2). Amaechi Muonagor:

 

 

Three weeks after losing one of its comic actors to the pang of death, the Nigerian movie industry lost yet another veteran actor, Amaechi Muonagor, to the cold hands of death. Muonagor died on Sunday, March 24, after battling kidney disease for a long period of time.

3). Aderounmu Adejumoke:

 

 

Popularly known as “Owo Cast” for her role in the movie of the same name, Aderounmu Adejumoke passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2024.Tributes poured in from her colleagues who remembered her infectious smile and vibrant personality.

4). Junior Pope:

 

 

News of Junior Pope’s passing came as a shock to many. The actor, known for his roles in movies like “Royal Hibiscus Hotel” and “The Wedding Party,” died at the age of 39 on Wednesday, April 10.
