Social media users have responded in a variety of ways to the accusation made by well-known Nigerian journalist Babajide Otitoju against Nuhu Ribadu, the country’s national security adviser, of defending the national grid against union laborers. Otitoju made his remark after some Union workers shut down the national grid during Monday’s nationwide walkout, sending the entire nation into darkness.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
In an interview with several TVC presenters, Otitoju urged Nuhu Ribadu to take steps to protect the country’s assets if union workers attempt to shut down the national grid again.
He stated that he does not expect such to happen again, as it would highlight the presence of rules in the country that are not being followed.
Part of his statement reads:
“If they switch off the national grid again and Nuhu Ribadu is there and he can’t call our security agencies to secure our national assets, then he knows that he is not up to his job. I do not expect this to happen again, because it will now show that we have laws, but some people are bigger than our laws. Ajaero or anybody else is not bigger than the laws of our country.”
