Nigerians Reacts After Report Of Peter Peter Obi Sending 29 Beggars Back To Their States In 2011 Surfaced Online

On Tuesday, the report was posted on Bayo Onanuga’s official X handle.

After Peter Obi made a comment regarding the recent deportation of some Osun state people, Onanuga went back and reviewed the report.

Peter Obi wrote on his page;

“I am deeply saddened and shocked by the recent reports of the deportation of citizens mostly of Osun State origin by Lagos State authorities. This is not merely a concern for Osun State but for all Nigerians who uphold the principles of unity, fairness, and justice”.

Reacting to the statement that was made by Peter Obi, Onanuga said the former governor of Anambra state also deported some citizens back to their states in 2011.

Onanuga wrote on his page;

“Peter Obi has displayed his incurable hypocrisy again over the decision of Lagos State to send some Osun citizens back home. Obi actually began ‘deportation’ of citizens in 2011, which Governor Fashola copied in August 2013 by deporting some destitute from Anambra back home”.

Onanuga however, went further to share a report made by LEADERSHIP claiming that Peter Obi deported 29 beggars from Anambra state.

The report says;

“The Anambra state government has issued a warning to all street beggars, especially children used by their parents to beg for alms, to vacate the streets or be arrested. 29 of such women who displayed their children as strategy for getting alms have already been arrested in Awka and Onitsha, and repatriated to their home states; Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom states”.
