A high-profile event was held at the University of Benin Indoors Sports Complex, Ugbowo Campus, during the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate’s final campaign rally in Edo State, according to a Punch report. Addressing the APC supporters, Vice President Shettima stressed the need for Edo State to be led by a strategic thinker and compassionate leader who can guide the people effectively. He highlighted that intelligence should not be measured by the size of one’s head, but rather by their ability to solve problems that affect the people. Shettima expressed strong confidence in the APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, assuring the crowd that they would deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Edo State. He urged citizens to come out in large numbers to support the APC candidates during the upcoming election on September 21.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio also took to the stage, reinforcing his belief in the leadership qualities of Senator Okpebholo and his running mate. He emphasized that he does not need someone who is simply skilled at speaking, but someone who can effectively deliver on their promises and perform well in governance.
