Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali's exit from ECOWAS: I see the hand of Russia in this — According to Professor Akinyemi

The Professor Bolaji Akinyemi, the former minister of foreign affairs, expressed suspicions of foul play in the decision of three ECOWAS members—Mali, Burkina Faso, and the Niger Republic—to leave the organization. He said he could see Russia had a hand in the decision. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Akinyemi had said, “I see the hand of Russia in this. I think Russia is emboldening these three countries to break up ECOWAS, as part of the attempt to weaken what one will call Western influence in this part of the world; and yet, Russian has not shown that it has the capability to help these three countries to combat the jadist…”

Professor Bolaji Akinyemi, who spoke during an interview on The Morning Show, an Arise Television programme, expressed dissatisfaction that ECOWAS is not in order.
