The People’s Democratic Party’s Timothy Osadolor, the Deputy National Youth Leader, has stressed the need for a comprehensive inquiry into claims of corruption at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. Osadolor claimed that the Minister had discovered a file exposing substantial sums embezzled by her predecessor, offering a potential explanation for her actions, in reaction to Betta Edu’s alleged memo directing the payment of N585m into a private account, as reported by Punch. Osadolor explained, “I’m sure the file she (Edu) stumbled upon gave her the courage to do what she’s doing now. So, let’s extend the investigation to the tenure of President Muhammad Buhari. Nigerians deserve the truth.”
The Deputy National Youth Leader of the PDP raised questions about whether the ministry was serving as a conduit for money laundering for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He expressed concerns, stating, “Nigerians want to know if this is a channel for them to recoup all the money they spent in the last election.
