As per the Punch story from Sunday, Momodu requested that Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the EFCC, carry out his responsibilities with the utmost care and diligence.

Yahaya Bello has been in the news in the past few weeks following the attempt by the EFCC to arrest him for alleged misappropriation of funds during his time in office.

During a press briefing, Olukoyede had claimed that before he left office, Yahaya Bello took money from the Kogi State Government, exchanged it through the Bureau De Change, and used it to pay for his children’s school fees.

It should be noted that Yahaya Bello’s media office had released a statement saying that the former governor did not pay the sum of $720,000 for his children’s school fees, as claimed by the EFCC Chairman.

While reacting to the incident, Dele Momodu said that before he read the story, he was wondering why someone paid such an amount of money, but when he checked it, he found out that was not what happened.

Speaking during an Instagram Live Show, the media mogul said, “I mean, I looked at the issue of school fees. Before I read, I was like, how can somebody pay that kind of money? Then, when I read, it was something else I was seeing. They said he paid upfront just before he left the government, and when I checked, that was not what happened.
