Minister of Defense Mohammed Badaru has disclosed the primary cause of the kidnappings in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and their plan to stop them in a video that was uploaded by Arise TV. He said that in order to address the problem of kidnappings in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its environs, the President of Nigeria has convened a meeting with the heads of service. He said that consultations and operations are being carried out by security agencies to stop the kidnappings immediately. He also suggested that the kidnappings are happening as a result of operations in the North West and North Central regions of the country and that the security agencies are working hard to end the problem once and for all.
He said, “Mr President called on us and all the service chiefs to discuss this issue. So, a concerned airport is being done by security agencies to really look into the situation and stop it immediately. People are panicking, they are saying FCT. These kidnappings happen around the suburbs area of FCT, majorly around towns or locations that are bordering Kaduna and Niger. And this is a result of the current operation going on in the North West and some parts of North Central. The bandits are fleeing and they are getting shelters around this and the security agencies are working too very hard to push them out and block the movement and finish this thing once and for all.
