According to the Daily Trust, on July 18, President Tinubu authorized raising the federal minimum salary from N30,000 to N70,000.

Walson-Jack described the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a partnership between his administration and Nigerians aimed at bringing residents out of poverty and establishing a conducive atmosphere for success.

“In this regard, President Bola Tinubu graciously upped the national minimum salary from N30,000 to N70,000, with the understanding that it will be reviewed in three years, rather than the necessary five years, under the Minimum salary Amendment Act.

“This solitary gesture is intended to improve the economic well-being of Nigeria’s working population in light of current economic realities.

This boost is likely to improve workers’ devotion to their employment, resulting in increased production,” she stated.

The HCSF stated that the necessary pay adjustment is required to preserve a fair and equitable remuneration structure for Federal Civil Servants as a result of the minimum wage now fixed at N70,000, a 133.33% increase over the previous minimum wage.

She continued: “Consequently, there is a need to adjust the salaries of other categories of staff, taking into consideration the consequential effect of the new minimum wage.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
