This was said in a viral video by Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, the Defence Media Operations spokesman. He said that Igboho’s intervention would be deemed unconstitutional.
The Yoruba Nation activist had on Monday charged his supporters and loyalists not to wait for the government’s intervention before confronting and routing out Fulani herders who prevent farmers from accessing their farms in the Southwest region.
Igboho told his loyalists:
“This is our domain. We should save ourselves from Fulani. We should put security in all Yoruba land. We did not need to wait for anybody including the government. If we really mean business, we should not wait for the government or else Fulani will carry all our lands.”
However, the activist expressed his willingness to dialogue with the government to fashion out lawful means of pursuing his course.
Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, in his reaction, assured Igboho of the military’s willingness to work with him if he genuinely seeks to to improve the security situation of the country.
He explained, “If what he said is to make the situation better, he is welcomed, but if what he is saying is that we should disregard the armed forces of Nigeria, definitely, he is out of line because that is against Nigeria’s Constitution.” CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
