Punch reports that the Ondo State Police Command said on Tuesday that two people had been apprehended who were connected to the death of Abiodun Akintomowo in Ondo town. Following an alleged intimate contact with a woman thought to be his girlfriend at a motel in the Akinjagunla neighborhood of the town on Sunday, Akintomowo reportedly passed dead. Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the State Police Public Relations Officer, refrained from disclosing the suspects’ identities. She revealed that one of the suspects was the deceased’s girlfriend, while the second was the hotel owner where the incident occurred. According to the PPRO, the deceased fell ill after the intimate encounter, was taken to the hospital, and unfortunately, passed away. Both suspects remain in police custody.
Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami noted that the investigation into the matter is ongoing, and the deceased’s remains have been placed in the morgue of a local hospital. According to a source, the woman alerted others when the man collapsed in the hotel room after the reported intimate encounter.
