Leloonu Nwibubasa Responds after Pro-Wike lawmakers threatened to sack Fubara if he Doesn't present 2024 budgetFormer PDP 2023 presidential campaign council spokesman Leloonu Nwibubasa responded to threats made by 27 Rivers State lawmakers who supported former governor Nyesom Wike to fire Governor Siminalayi Fubara if he did not resubmit the state budget for 2024. In a recent video posted to YouTube by Arise TV, Nwibubasa advocated for the 27 lawmakers to make sure their own legal status is established rather than considering impeaching Fubara for refusing to re-present the budget. He claimed that many legal actions contest the lawmakers’ legitimacy due to their transfer from the PDP, the party they were elected under, to the APC. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

In Nwibubasa’s words: “They said that Governor [Fubara] has refused to present the budget of the state before them and that is the reason they think the governor should be impeached. It is rather wrong for them to think in that wise because they should rather be thinking about their own status to be properly defined by law so that whatever actions they take can be seen to be legitimate. As of today, there are a plethora of court cases against them having jumped shift from the political party that sponsored them to the parliament. They must have it in their own understanding that their defection is a matter of public interest and a lot of groups have already taken to the court to define and determine their true position”.
