He continued by saying that although the nation’s police are generous in their disregard for the law, they permit cars with tinted factory-installed glasses to drive on the road.
In response to several remarks on cars that are driven with tint, particularly in Delta State, Edafe revealed this information on his X account on Wednesday.
The state police command has prohibited vehicles with tinted glasses in the state, especially those that are artificially made, while allowing factory-fitted ones if they are able to produce tinted permits.
According to Edafe, the existing law said motorists are to change the vehicle glasses that are tinted within two weeks, adding that the force is magnanimous in overlooking that so as not to give motorists unnecessary stress.
Many people, especially motorists, have been having issues with policemen on the highways and roads over their vehicles with tinted glasses, as the policemen, especially in Delta State, always order motorists with artificial tinted glasses to peel them off.
The state police command said the need to ban tinted vehicles in the state became imperative because of criminals activities being carried out with tinted vehicles, including kidnapping, armed robbery, among others.
The Police PRO therefore said that motorists should comply with what the state police command wants regarding the use of vehicles with tinted glasses.
