Ibe noted in an interview with Arise TV that Lagos, the previous capital of Nigeria, had long benefited from the development of its infrastructure and resources. He threw down the gauntlet to Tinubu, challenging him to fulfill his campaign pledges and display the “magic” that the governor of Lagos was said to possess. In the last nine months, he has also questioned Tinubu’s economic team and administration style.

In Ibe’s words: “Lagos was [Nigeria’s] Capital for donkey years, has enjoyed resources, infrastructural development and so where did the claim that [Tinubu] built Lagos came from? Now is the time for the hard work let him walk the talk. Where are those magics that were attributed to him? Where is his so-called economic team?
