Lagos-Calabar: Obi Stated. “Why Embark On Another Huge Project That Wont Be Completed In The Next 20 Or 30yrs”

The Federal Government has been warned not to start the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project by Peter Gregory Obi, the former governor of Anambra state and the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for president in 2023. He posted this assertion in a message on Monday on his official X account.

In the post that he shared on his official page, he said the country currently has numerous road projects that are yet to be completed. He said strating the Lagos-Calabar road project at this point in time will worsen the debt burden of the nation.

The former governor of Anambra state wrote on his page;

“why embark on another huge project that will not be completed in the next 20 or 30 years? To do so will only exacerbate the problem of abandoned, uncompleted projects that are not contributing to economic growth and overall development. It will merely worsen our already sagging debt burden.
