Kano Govt:"According To Court Ruling, Sanusi Lamido Is The Only Emir Of One United Kano Emirate"

“The fact that the Kano State Assembly under its constitutional responsibility decided to repeal the emirate law and the law is valid according to the judgement of the High Court. Automatically, we have reverted to the pre-2019 Kano Emirate reality which had Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the sole Emir of one united Kano State. By virtue of the high court judgement, Sanusi remains Emir of Kano,” Bature said.

This statement clarifies the legal standing following the court’s decision regarding the Kano emirate law.

It affirms that the actions taken have reverted the state to its former Emirate structure, with Sanusi as the recognized Emir.

This decision has huge implications for the governance and traditional leadership within Kano State.
