Judgement Said It Clearly That I'm The Speaker Of Rivers State House Of Assembly - According to Martins AmaewhuleMartins Amaewhule, the speaker of the Rivers State House of Parliament, has charged that members took on significant officer responsibilities in the legislature while they were on suspension. He claimed that the three members and the new speaker had been duly suspended in accordance with House rules. According to him, a court’s decision specifically confirmed his right to serve as the head of the Rivers State House of Assembly. He raised a pending case in which a Federal High Court had issued an interim injunction against the governor, directing him to cease his participation in the Assembly’s operations.

In an interview with Channels TV, he stated, ”Let me draw the attention of Rivers State people and Nigerians to this. There is a subsisting judgment of the Federal High Court that has issued an interim injunction on the governor.”

“The governor is a party in that suit, and the injunction says that the governor should stop interfering in our affairs.”

“The judgment of the court is still subsisting; the governor has suspended against it but that judgment has not been set aside.”

“That judgment has said clearly that I am the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. But every day we listen to and read all media reports.”
