In a video shared by Arise TV, Jonathan equated Oborevwori’s action to a certificate of integrity that surpasses even a Ph.D. He said it is rare for public officers or civil servants to willingly return funds to the government. He said Oborevwori’s willingness to return unspent funds reflects a high level of integrity and trustworthiness. He lauded this demonstration of integrity, stating that it sets Oborevwori apart as a person of commendable character.
In Jonathan’s words: “When you were Speaker you returned N500m unspent money, that is a certificate you have gotten that is more than a PhD certificate. It is not easy for a public officer or even a civil servant to refund money to government. In most cases, it is extremely difficult and as a speaker you were able to do that.
