Ambassador Igali highlighted Jonathan’s legacy, particularly his groundbreaking decision in 2015 to accept the results of the presidential election and concede defeat before the final outcome was officially declared.

“You have really done well in life and stand out as a global icon of democracy and peace,” Igali remarked.

This act, Igali pointed out, was a testament to Jonathan’s well-known belief that “My political ambition is not worth the blood of a single Nigerian,” a statement that remains a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

The PANDEF chairman further praised Jonathan for his consistent refusal to contest election results in court, a rare display of political integrity in a country where post-election disputes often lead to prolonged legal challenges.

Igali noted that Jonathan is “the only major Nigerian politician” to adhere to this principle, despite the flaws sometimes seen in the country’s electoral process.

PANDEF also acknowledged Jonathan’s global contributions to peace and democracy, pointing to his active role in advocating for good governance and democratic values across Africa and the world.

His efforts have earned him recognition as a global leader in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

Ambassador Igali reiterated PANDEF’s full support for Jonathan, expressing the forum’s solidarity with him in all his future endeavors.

“The dignified role, which nature has bestowed on you as a global peace icon, speaks for itself,” Igali added.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
