It Is Unfortunate That Many Nigerians Vote Who They Don't Want & Later Blame INEC For It- According to Ogah

The head of the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Chinedu Ogah, stated in an interview with The Sun that everyone should bear responsibility for electoral fraud that occurred during the 2023 presidential election and that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should not be held accountable for it. He expressed concern that many Nigerians voted for people they didn’t want to support and then held INEC responsible for it. In response to a query posed by The Sun, the politician said as much: “INEC is being crucified in the country for alleged electoral fraud.” What are your thoughts about that?

In his own words, Chinedu Ogah said “The issue is with everyone, not with INEC. It is sad when you elect someone you don’t want to be in office and then turn around and blame INEC. Elections that are being held and you have resisted the urge to vote for someone you do not like would be good for our democracy.

“You have acknowledged the illegality if you assert that a written result was delivered to your polling place and you chose not to reject it. A few of INEC’s ad hoc employees are university lecturers. Some of them will take bribes, act improperly, and you will remain silent.
