Nigeria’s future in crude oil refining is largely dependent on billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, according to Senate President Godswill Akpabio in an Arise TV broadcast. He emphasised that Dangote’s petrochemical industry expertise makes him the sole catalyst for Nigeria’s refining transformation. Akpabio highlighted Dangote’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s quest for self-sufficiency in refined petroleum products and petrochemicals.
According to him, “You mentioned here that India is not producing any crude oil, but it is refining so much, bringing oil, and even though there’s no import into India of refined products, instead, they’re exporting to other countries.
