Ireti Kingibe:"Mr President, I'm The Highest Elected Person In The FCT With Over Four Million People"Federal Capital Territory (FCT) senator Ireti Kingibe has once again voiced her dissatisfaction and sense of marginalization in the Senate Committee about matters impacting her district. As the highest elected official in the FCT, representing over four million people, Kingibe said that it was unfair to be left out of crucial meetings and budget discussions.

She stated that she was not invited to any meeting where the budget was discussed and was not aware of the procedure.

Senate President GodsWill Akpabio interrupted Kingibe, requesting that she present a motion to the House, which was agreed upon by the senators.

Kingibe will present her complaint in a motion tomorrow.

According to the report by Punch on Monday, she said, “Mr President, I am the highest elected person in the FCT with over four million people.

“I am not usually carried along in the issues that pertain to the FCT, especially the matters of budget.”

Speaking further, she said that the FCT supplementary budget is being presented today (Tuesday), yet she was not aware of the entire process.

She said, “The FCT supplementary budget is presented today but I am not even aware of the whole process. I was not invited to any meeting where the budget was discussed.”

Senator Kingibe’s statement came after President Bola Tinubu requested a supplementary bill of N98.5bn for the Federal Capital Territory Administration, in addition to the N1.2tn budget passed in March by the National Assembly.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
