Femi Falana said this while speaking in an interview the Channels TV. He said this while reacting to the claim that Nigerians have no right to bear arms.

He said, “It is not correct to say Nigerians have no right to bear arms. Apart from the fact that the Pina code is applicable in the North and the criminal code is applicable in the South, recognized the right to self-defense. In other words, if somebody aims a gun at me and I can quickly grab another gun, I have the right to shoot. The law permits Nigerians to have guns but you are required to apply for the license. It is also guaranteed by the Constitution. All I’m required to do is that I must not use a force that is not proportional to the threat.
